160 Westminster Bridge Road

Survey of a flat roof in central London.

Due to no direct access or man safe system the drone was used for close and detailed inspection of the property’s roof and elevated associated areas.

The survey was completed in less than 2 hours on a single morning, this allowed residents to feel comfortable knowing the survey could be completed in a time efficient manner without disruption.

Challenges for the drone team were management and control of the operation area, maintaining visual line of sight (VLOS) of the drone and natural hazards such  as trees. Due to the location of the survey being in one of London’s  restricted airspace (R157) and in close proximity to one of London’s busiest train stations, additional permissions from Air Traffic Control, DaPD and Network Rail were needed before the operation could take place, this was gained through careful planning and preparation.

Costs saved if traditional methods were used are between £1000-£3000.
